Sacred Moments

The Wellington Cathedral of St Paul is available to the public to celebrate your most sacred moments. As an Anglican church, each service held within our walls is in accordance with the New Zealand Prayer Book and is officiated by one of our Cathedral Clergy.

If you are a member of our parish please speak to one of our priests during your time of consideration so they might pray with you and help you plan.

Those outside of our parish can get in contact with Cathedral Staff who will pass your details on to one of our Priests by filling out the following form.

Baptisms & Confirmations

The Cathedral is overjoyed to welcome both children and adults into the body of Christ through Baptism during one of our regular services.

The Cathedral runs baptism and confirmation classes through out the year, advertised in our Weekly News.

Our Baptisms are public services, allowing all who attend our services to celebrate you on your journey,

Once you have been baptised you may wish to further your commitment to Christ by being Confirmed to the Anglican faith. We run classes twice a year, meeting once a week with a priest to further your education as an Anglican and go over the meaning of your Confirmation.

As you must be confirmed by a Bishop we will need to schedule a date well in advance. Again, our confirmation services are public and are usually performed within one of our other larger services.

Weddings

Congratulations on your upcoming union. The Wellington Cathedral of St Paul is a beautiful place to take your vows and begin your life together. While you do not need to be an Anglican to be married here, your service will need to follow the Anglican liturgy found in the Anglican Prayer Book and performed by one of our Cathedral Clergy.

Before your wedding a priest will meet with you for Marriage Preparation as well as setting time for planning the wedding itself.

If you attend another church and would like your personal Priest or Minister help with the service let us know so we can start making the appropriate arrangements.

Funeral and Memorial Services

Please accept our condolences if you are planning a funeral for your loved one. The Wellington Cathedral is well prepared to hold your service in either the Cathedral Nave or Lady Chapel. As with all of our services, it must conform to the Anglican liturgy and be lead by one of our Clergy.
