The Wellington Cathedral of St Paul is proud to host the second season of Death & Honey, produced by Salty Lizard Productions.

The well received production of Death & Honey, first played as a part of the Wellington Fringe Festival, will return rewritten to Wellington at the Wellington Cathedral of St Paul, 2 Hill Street, Thorndon, on the 12th and 13th of July.

As death and loss are such difficult topics to broach in our every day lives, we are happy to encourage this creative approach from 18 year old student Aroha Morrison and her team.

Are we. . . strangers? The closest of friends?

From the existential incomprehensible unknown, to arguing about mugs of hot chocolate, Honey explores her relationship with Death and what it means to live in the face of mortality.

Death & Honey was created to provide a safe space where life and loss could be discussed with the audience, posing a reflective question for the viewer; Who is Death to you?

Death and grief aren’t easy to talk about or go through, yet each person will experience it. So how do we deal with that? We talk. A burden shared is a burden halved and through talking, stories are born. Through stories, people live on.

This 50-minute piece combines elements of movement, spoken word poetry, and physical theater into a riveting duet. If you think you’ve seen this story think again, come and witness the rebirth of Death & Honey.
