Font

The portable font was designed by Wellington artist Beverley Shore Bennett. Four silver panels of cherubim are placed so that children present at baptisms can look up and see them. The dove on the cover symbolises the Holy Spirit which descended on Christ after his baptism. During Eastertide the font is moved to the centre of the cathedral as a reminder of our baptism into the church.
