The Lady Chapel

This little chapel used to be a parish church in Paraparaumu, and when they built the big church there, this chapel was brought down to the Cathedral and attached to the garden side of the building.  It needed stained glass windows, and scenes showing the life Mary, Jesus’ mother, give the place the name The Lady Chapel.  A famous NZ stained glass artist Beverley Shore Bennett designed all the windows.  As you go in, on the left you can find a scene of the Angel Gabriel telling Mary the news about having a baby.  Straight ahead on the left of the Altar in the Sanctuary is the Nativity scene with Mary and Baby Jesus.
