Tots’N’Tunes
Tots’N’Tunes music and movement is a weekly gathering for parents (and those expecting!) and pre-schoolers. We meet on Tuesday mornings from 10am to 11.30am in the Brian Davis Room at the cathedral.
Sessions begin with an energetic time of music, songs and dance. We have a children’s story and then enjoy all important coffee and morning tea!

Worship Centre
Most Sundays there is a special programme for children at the 10am Sunday Eucharist Service. The programme happens in the Brian Davis Room. Aimed at children aged 2 – 13 years it is based on the Bible readings of the week. It is a time when children learn through story, activities and play. They have free time to respond to the story and are provided with a range of resources and activities they can choose to use. Children join their families in time for communion.

Buggy Service
Whilst every worship service at the Cathedral is an opportunity to gather together as the family of God, we recognise that juggling young children is not always easy within our regular services and parents don’t always get to join in all of the hymns or hear the sermons. So, once a month we have a Eucharist service especially designed for parents and pre-schoolers.
The service takes place at 9.30am (early enough to be home for morning sleeps!) on the third Saturday of every month in the Lady Chapel.
The Buggy Service combines traditional liturgy and hymns with pre-school focussed songs and activities. The service lasts half an hour and is followed by a relaxed morning tea.

Infant Baptism and Services of Thanksgiving for the Gift of a Child
Regular opportunities are offered for parents of infants to be prepared for the baptism/christening of their child. Speak to one of the clergy team to find out more about the celebration of baptism and the preparation process here at the Cathedral. We also offer a service for parents to give thanks for the gift of their child and pray for God’s blessing upon their family life.

Pipitea Playgroup
During school-term time on Monday mornings there is a playgroup for Pre-schoolers from 9.30 to 11.30am in the Brian Davis Room at the cathedral. The playgroup is organised by a committee of parents, and is run independently from the Cathedral.
