Welcome to Wellington Cathedral, in the Anglican Diocese of Wellington. Situated within the parliamentary precinct of New Zealand's capital city, we are a vibrant and diverse community of people drawn together to worship God through fine liturgy, good music, stimulating preaching and a sense of belonging. I invite you to explore our sacred space. The Cathedral is open to visitors daily 10am - 4pm.

New Bishop's Ordination and Installation
The Ordination and Installation of Justin Duckworth as 11th Bishop of Wellington will take place at 1.30pm on Saturday 30th June 2012. Archbishop David Moxon will preside.

Antarctic Exhibition
Journey to an ‘other’ place: Sarah Wilcox’s interpreted exhibition of photographs she took en route to and from the Antarctic earlier this year promises to be interesting, stimulating and thought-provoking. Don’t miss the exhibition which goes up in the Cathedral on 2nd July for a month.

Peter Godfrey - Tribute
On Sunday 10 June, in the year of his 90th birthday, we saluted Prof Peter Godfrey, some time Director of Music at Wellington Cathedral, and someone who has given immeasurably to choral music in New Zealand.

Frank Nelson, Dean of Wellington, is to be the new Dean of St Peter's Cathedral, Adelaide, it was announced on Sunday 29th April. Text of the announcement can be found here...
A farewell event and service will be held on Thursday 13th September, with a social gathering beginning at 5.30pm followed by Choral Evensong at 7.00pm.
Frank will be installed as Dean in Adelaide on Friday 12th October.

Have you been to Choral Evensong recently? Let the singing of God's praises wash over you after a day at the office. Thursdays at 5.30pm till about 6.05pm.
