Cathedral Choristers

The Cathedral Choristers are an important part of the life of the Cathedral. Aged from 8 to 15 years and drawn from schools across the city, they play a regular role in the worship life of our Cathedral. The Choristers rehearse twice a week and participate in a weekday Evensong service and some of the Sunday services and special services which take place at the Cathedral.

Being part of the Choristers is a wonderful opportunity for first rate musical education and to be part of a much loved community. Choristers also take part in Christian education and have the opportunity to train for Royal School of Church Music Ribbon Awards.

Michael Stewart, Director of Music, auditions prospective choristers regularly. Please email Michael Stewart for more information.

Cathedral Servers and Acolytes

Cathedral servers are young people, who take responsibility for vital parts of our Sunday Eucharist celebrations. A Head Server looks after the group of servers and, along with the clergy, provide training for all new servers. If you would like to find out more about serving God in this way, contact our Head Server, Tim Hodgson.

Infant Baptism and Services of Thanksgiving for the Gift of a Child

Regular opportunities are offered for parents of infants to be prepared for the baptism/christening of their child. Speak to one of the clergy team to find out more about the celebration of baptism and the preparation process here at the Cathedral. We also offer a service for parents to give thanks for the gift of their child and pray for God’s blessing upon their family life.

For more information please email Alison Camplin.
